Dr. Paraskevi Panagiotopoulou is Associate Professor at the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete and Director of the Laboratory of “Environmental Catalysis”. She received her diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2001 from the University of Patras and her M.Sc and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2006 from the same University. From 2006 to 2012 she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras and from 2012 to 2014 she has worked as senior researcher in the Catalysis Center for Energy Innovation, in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Delaware, USA. In 2014 she joined the academic staff of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete.

Her research activities are focused in the fields of Heterogeneous Catalysis and, especially, in materials synthesis and characterization, catalyst development and evaluation, and investigation of reaction kinetics and mechanisms, with emphasis given in environmental and energy-related applications. In recent years, her efforts are directed toward the development of novel materials for the production of fuel hydrogen via LPG steam reforming and dry methane reforming reactions, as well as the elimination and utilization of CO2 through its conversion toward high added value chemicals and fuels (CH4, C3H6).
