Within the framework of a Programmatic Agreement with the Region of Western Macedonia, on 24 February 2022, a meeting took place between the researchers of the Institute of Geoenergy, Dr. S. Bellas and Dr. D. Marinakis, and the Mayor of Deskati, Mr. D. Kordilas, in the presence of Mr. G. Papaelias, regarding the project on the study of gas emissions in the area of the Katakali settlement of the Municipality of Deskati.

The Motor Oil Group, with a consistent and steady course spanning 50 years, is initiating an important collaboration with the Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH).
The Institute of Petroleum Research of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), which was established in 2019 in Chania, is being renamed the Institute of Geoenergy (FORTH-IG), according to Article 76 of Law 4864/2021, published on 2 December 2021.
Nikos Kalogeris, Deputy Regional Governor of Chania and responsible for Energy issues of the Region of Crete, visited the facilities of the Institute of Petroleum Research of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IPR/FORTH), located at the Polytechnic Campus in Akrotiri. During the visit, he was given a tour of the laboratories by the Director of IPR/FORTH, Professor Nikolaos Pasadakis.
On Wednesday, October 6th, we will have the pleasure of hosting Professor Frithjof Küpper (University of Aberdeen) for a lecture entitled “An inorganic antioxidant in a living system impacting atmospheric and marine chemistry: Iodide in seaweeds (kelp)”.
