Following the signing of the contract concerning the construction of the Research and Innovation Center for the Sustainable Energy Transition, with a total area of 3,296.28 m², work began immediately on the construction of the buildings in Chania, which will house the Institute of Geoenergy and the Science & Technology Park.
Specifically, from May until today, the excavation works have been completed and the foundation works have started, while the concrete works for the buildings will commence shortly. The project, with a budget of €11 million, is expected to be completed in December 2025, according to the timetable.
- The projects are included in the Recovery Fund and are co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the European Investment Bank through the Public Investment Programme.
- The action is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
