WORKSHOP: Prevention and replacement of single-use plastics in Greek Dry Cleaners

A workshop entitled “Prevention and replacement of single-use plastics in Greek dry cleaners GreeningDryCleaning” was successfully held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Peristeri Exhibition Center, as part of the Clean EXPO 2023 exhibition.

The workshop, which also offered the possibility of online participation, took place within the framework of the project “Action for the reduction of single-use plastics in Greek dry cleaners GreeningDryCleaning”, which is included in the programme “Natural Environment & Innovative Actions 2020” funded by the Green Fund.

In the first part of the workshop, on behalf of the Panhellenic Federation of Dry Cleaners, Carpet Cleaners, Laundries and related professions, the General Secretary, G. Skliris, highlighted the importance for the Greek dry-cleaning sector of the initiative to participate in this project, which aims to minimise the sector’s environmental footprint and to move towards a more environmentally friendly direction. This was followed by a detailed presentation of the #GreeningDryCleaning project on behalf of the main partners by Dr E. Stamatakis, researcher at the Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas.
