Welcome to the Institute of GeoEnergy

The Institute of GeoEnergy - IG, as the Institute of Petroleum Research - IPR was recently renamed, was founded in January 2019 and is the newest Institute of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH). At a time of energy transition towards cleaner forms of energy production, the Institute of GeoEnergy is aiming to support and actively shape the conditions for the exploitation of energy resources and their optimal and sustainable environmental management.
